Faux Leather Elvish Bracers
My sister and I are avid fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's books, so we decided to make costumes for the release of The Hobbit, Battle Of The Five Armies. I saw some awesome designs online, so I experemented with making my own.

Step 1
Use faux leather for this project, you'll also need some ribbon, a huge needle and some cotton.
Begin by measuring the leather pieces by laying your arm on the material and using that to get your desired length/width. then mark with a pen and cut.
Step 2
Now repeat with your other arm, you should end up with two pieces looking like this.
Step 3
Fold over the top and bottom edges to form points, (by your wrist and elbow) and use paperclips to hold in place. For mine, I had a biger point by my wrist than by my elbow.
Step 4
Now you'll need to get a big fat needle, (the above image is compared to a normal needle) and some black cotton. You could use any colour, but I find you can never go wrong with black.
Step 5
Sew the inside of the points by your wrist first, then continue to stitch all the way around to make a small hem and repeat on both pieces.
Step 6
Now its time to cut some holes along the inside edges and weave the ribbon in, (I used the needle again to make things easier) criss cross the ribon like you would thread shoelaces.
