Step 1

Begin by shaping the base piece, I used 18gauge for these main parts and 24gauge for the joins which you'll see later on. (About 1mm and 0.5mm) I use tinned copper as its really easy to work with.

Then make all of these pieces, two of these ^^^ they'll be added to the main piece soon.

Step 2
Step 3

The next stage is to place all the pieces where your planning to attatch them, that way, if you want to swap things around and change the layout, you can do so before its all attatched.

Step 4

Now to put it all together: I placed the smaller pieces on the main body and wound a smaller grade wire (24gauge) around the joins to hold them together.

Step 5

Once I was happy with how it was holding together and the general shape I tinkered around with the way it sits around my neck. I felt it was a bit loose, so I got a simple chain and clasp and added it to the loops at the end. Now I can adjust and tighten it at the back so it doesn't slip off.

Step 6

Once this was all finished, I still felt it needed something else. Eventually I decided on using one of the cheap pearl earings i'd picked up at Kmart that were left over from when I made my crown, (See Elvish Crown #1 Tutorial). This was perfect. I bent the wire needle and poked it through one of the holes and used more 24gauge wire to secure it. Then I added some of the pearl split pins that were leftover from making my armour.

Step 7 - Final              Product

The final step is to bend it around your neck and check at all fits nicely. Done :)
